I’m fully aware that those who are not either my close friends & or fellow #infertilitysisters could care less most often about my infertility related posts. However, in light of #nationalinfertilityawarenessweek I’m sharing this image to give you a clearer view of what infertility actually looks like. It’s not just the inability to have children.
This is my stomach after last Friday’s laproscopy. I look 5 months preggo but there’s no baby in that belly, just a bunch of air. Another painful reminder of what we continue to deal with in this painful rod that is, often times, quiet & only heard or seen between the two of us.
It hurts. Infertility does that. A lot.
This yesr’s slogan to infertility awareness week is #StartAsking I feel like, much of the time, people don’t ask questions because they don’t know what to say. They worry so much about saying the wrong thing that they don’t say anything at all. So we are left in the silence to fight the battle alone. As someone struggling with infertility, I personally would rather those I care about ask about our treatments. Ask about our options. & support them (without giving advice). You never know what a listening ear can do for a friend. If you feel the need to say anything at all, “I love you.” “I’m sorry.” & “I’m here for you.” are all good options.
“Everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle you know nothing about. Be kind always.” ❤️
I often look like I am around five months pregnant all from different stages of fertility treatment with bloating etc…..infertility and fertility treatment really can be a cruel road. Xx

Wow that looks painful! I’ve swollen a bit but never that much. I know what you mean about the fear of asking/talking. People get confused and overwhelmed (as it is overwhelming). Hope you’re feeling better soon. X

It really is /: If anything, it seems to feel worse day to day. Can’t wait till it disappears & shaving my legs isn’t such a daunting task 😀
Thank you!! xo
